Senior Software Engineer · Berlin, GermanyGerman A1 certified

Hi, I'm Saurabh Gupta.

I'm a software engineer and photographer.

I turn complex workflows into clear, dependable products. After eight years in frontend engineering, I'm extending that craft into Kotlin backend work and AI-assisted delivery.

Engineering in motion.

AI in my engineering loop

Faster exploration. Careful decisions.

Claude Code has been part of my workflow for 14 months, and I now use Codex too. I use them to refactor legacy modules, write tests, explore product ideas, and draft technical proposals—then make the engineering decisions and verify the result myself.

Always in progress

From frontend craft to product engineering.

Eight years of building for the web taught me depth. New tools and backend work are expanding where I can contribute.

Build the interface as a system

Across Angular and React products, I’ve focused on reusable components, clear workflows, testing, and performance. The goal is software that stays useful as teams and products grow.

Follow the user’s problem

In logistics, fintech, banking, and insurance, I’ve learned to connect engineering choices to the people and workflows they serve. Product engineering means owning the outcome, not just a screen.

Go beyond the browser

I’m now working with Kotlin on the backend. As AI changes how we build, I want to stay adaptable and contribute across the full product, from the interface to the services behind it.

01 / A little about me

I care about the details and the bigger picture.

The photo that started this site · still me

I work where product thinking meets frontend engineering: shaping experiences people use every day and making the systems behind them easier to maintain.

Since 2018, I've built customer and internal platforms for logistics, payments, banking, and insurance teams. My work spans Angular and React, reusable design patterns, testing, performance, and close collaboration with product and engineering partners.

At Bex Technologies, I lead frontend work across carrier, operations, and customer platforms. I'm also working with Kotlin on the backend, growing toward product engineering that can follow a problem from the interface through the services behind it.

This site began as a place to share the resources that helped me learn. I still believe we grow by lifting others, so the resource library remains part of the story.

Senior Software Engineer

01

Bex Technologies GmbH

Drove the Tour Planner from stakeholder discovery to a product line generating €60K in monthly recurring revenue. Across carrier, operations, and customer platforms, I lead Angular development, build reusable components, and improve engineering quality through Nx, SonarQube, Renovate, reviews, and mentoring.

THE SHORT CHAPTERWhy did this role end so soon?

I was affected by Delivery Hero’s 2023 layoffs. The chapter was brief, but the fintech portal I worked on helped bring customer service time from 10 minutes to 6.

Web Engineer II

03

Tide

Built customer facing Angular banking features, including invoicing and Trial Switching so users could link business accounts with fewer logins. Transaction filtering cut search time by 30%; Storybook, Jest, and Cypress helped keep the UI reusable and reliable. Promoted from Web Engineer I in 2021.

Capgemini India

Built customer and staff insurance portals with Angular, including Producer Engage. Improved user data retrieval performance by 50% and built a shared component that reduced module development from four weeks to two. Worked with distributed teams on onboarding and Guidewire policy management; promoted in 2019.

03 / Selected work

Work with an impact.

A few examples from the products and teams I've contributed to.

Delivery Hero · Fintech

A faster back office

Built a fintech staff portal whose reusable React components halved module development time and simplified routine support work.

10 → 6 mincustomer service time

Tide · Business banking

Banking without the friction

Built Trial Switching for linked business accounts, invoicing, and transaction filters in Tide's Angular app, with modular UI documented in Storybook.
